Our Mission
Galing is a love letter to Filipino craft.
We started Galing because we kept hearing the same story: "I didn't know this brand existed until I visited the Philippines." The diaspora shouldn't have to travel to discover the brands that belong to us.
Galing means "from" — as in, where you're from, your roots, your origin. These brands are from us, and they belong to us.
We don't sell anything. We celebrate. Every brand featured on this site gets a full editorial story — their founding moment, their craft philosophy, their founders' voices. We link you directly to their shops. The commerce stays with the makers.
From the Founder
I'm a Filipina-American whose parents immigrated to the U.S. in the late 70s. Growing up, being Filipino was the smell of Spam frying on Sunday mornings before church, going back for third and fourth helpings of pancit bihon at family gatherings, and late-night karaoke sessions fueled by San Miguel and arguments over who got to sing the Sinatra classic My Way.
But growing up in New Jersey, I rarely saw that world reflected back to me. Filipino culture felt rich and deeply present in my life, yet mostly absent from the mainstream stories around me.
I created Galing to celebrate Filipino creators across the diaspora.

Our Standards
How we choose the brands we feature.
01
Filipino-Owned
The brand must be founded and majority-owned by Filipinos, whether based in the Philippines or abroad.
02
Intentionally Made
Quality over scale. We look for brands that make decisions with care — materials, suppliers, community.
03
A Story Worth Telling
Every brand we feature has a narrative. There's a founding moment, a why, a human being behind it.
04
Accessible to the Diaspora
Whether shipping internationally or selling online, the brand should be reachable beyond the Philippines.
